BTS pen theme song for Japanese film

K-pop superstars Bts recorded an original theme song for the Japanese film Your eyes say.

BTS member Jungkook is one of the composers, according to Variety, marking the first time the group has contributed to a film score.

The song and film share the same title in English, with the theme also being featured as a track on their new SOUL MAP: 7 – THE JOURNEY – album, which debuted in Japan on Wednesday.

In a statement, the group said, “We are happy to be a part of such an incredible film. Jungkook participated in the songwriting of the theme song Your Eyes Tell which goes well with the beautiful and deep love portrayed in the film.

“Listen carefully to the beautiful melody and the message of the lyrics that ‘In the midst of hardship, I believe there is light in your vision for the future.’ Hope you enjoy it and feel our emotions that we poured into the song when you watch the movie! “

It stars Yuriko Yoshitaka and Ryusei yokohama, with Yoshitaka playing a blind girl who meets Yokohama’s lonely ex-kickboxer turned mafia debt collector and embarks on an unlikely romance. The film is slated for release on October 23 (2020).
