Japanese film festival screens Poupelle of Chimney Town, ‘Josée, the tiger and the fish’ animated films in Delhi – Reuters

The Japanese Film Festival announced its screening schedule for its Delhi event on Friday. The festival will take place at PVR Select Citywalk, Delhi from March 4-6 and will screen the following films:

Studio 4°Cthe animated film Akihiro Nishinoit’s Poupelle of Chimney Town (Entotsu-chō no Poupelle) picture book will screen on March 5 at 1:30 p.m. IST.

Poupelle of Chimney Town is the story of young Lubicchi living among the thick smoke of the chimneys of his isolated town, longing to see the “stars” – to know the truth – that his father always told him about. One Halloween night, he meets Poupelle, a man made of trash, and together they look up at the sky as their adventure begins. Spectacularly beautiful, filled with inspiring performances and splendid music and sound effects, and produced at Tokyo’s famed 4ºC Studio, Poupelle of Chimney Town brings laughter, tears and joy.

The film opened in Japan in December 2020 and ranked No. 4 and grossed 322,998,700 (about US$3.13 million) in its opening weekend.

Yusuke Hirota (CGI director for Berserk movies, Harmony) directed the film, with Nishino serving as production supervisor, original creator, and screenwriter. Atsuko-Fukushima (genius party, Robot Carnival) designed the characters.

Studio BONESanimated film by Seiko Tanabethe little story Josée, the tiger and the fish (Josée at Tora at Sakana-tachi) will screen on March 6 at 11:00 a.m. IST.

The film’s story centers around the relationship between Tsuneo and Josée. Tsuneo is a university student and Josée is a young girl who rarely left the house alone because she couldn’t walk. The two meet when Tsuneo finds Josee’s grandmother taking him for a morning walk.

Kotaro Tamura (Noragami, Noragami Aragoto) directed the anime. Nao Emoto (O maidens in your wild season) wrote the original character designs, and Haruko Iizuka (Tamayura, children of whales, Endro~!) designed these characters for animation and also served as chief animation director. Sayaka Kuwamura (Edge strobe) wrote the screenplay. storage compartment (Tsuki ga Kirei, I want to eat your pancreas character design) is credited for concept design. Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, Brand Schwarzes) composed the music. Eve performed the movie’s theme song “Ao no Waltz” (Blue Waltz) and also performed the insert song “Shinkai”.

The anime film opened in Japan in December 2020, delayed from its planned summer opening due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Tanabe published the original story in the 1985 short story collection of the same name. The story inspired a live-action movie in 2003.

The 4K remaster of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama (Ramayana – Rama Ouji Densetsu) The animated film will be screened on March 6 at 4:00 PM IST.

In Ayodhya, the royal palace of the kingdom of Kosala in ancient India, four princes were born to three queens, each of whom attained great stature. After being banished from the palace for fourteen years due to court intrigues, Prince Rama retired to the forest with his beautiful wife Sita. The remastered version of the film launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations.

The anime film premiered in 1992, the year of the 40th anniversary of Indo-Japanese diplomatic relations. cartoon network aired the film on Indian television in subsequent years.

Yugo Sako directed and co-produced the film at Nippon Ramayana Film Co. Vanraj Bhatia composed the music. Moriyasu Taniguchi designed the characters for the film. Satoshi Matsuoka was the artistic director and Kazuyuki Kobayashi was the animation director.

The live action movie Renjuro Kindaichiit’s Liar x Liar manga will be screened on March 4 at 1:30 p.m. IST. The film debuted in February 2021.

The live-action film adaptation of Tomoko Yamashitait’s The night beyond the tricorn window (Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru) boys love manga will be screened on March 6 at 6:30 p.m. IST. The film debuted in January 2021.

The JFF aired the reverse patema and Eve Time animated films in India from February 14 to 27 as part of its online festival. It also aired the live action movie of Yayoisoit’s ReLIFE manga.

JFF had announced earlier on its Indian Facebook page that he was canceling his physical event in Delhi due to rising COVID-19 cases. He canceled his event in Bengaluru which was previously scheduled for February 11-13.

The Japan Foundation annually hosts the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) in major cities across India. The Foundation hosted the JFF 2019 event in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai and Guwahati.
